Day 1

Today we brainstormed ideas for the escape pod

and finalized setting up the website. We also started to make a good process with team communication set up.

Dec 01, 2016

12:00 PM

Day 2

Today we started sketching our prototype and sketching the rocket. We also started to think about final solution for the rocket and worked on the website.

Day 3

Today we finalized main egg capsule idea and started thinking of materials to bring in. We also worked on the website and have the first page done.

12:00 PM

Day 4

We looked through materials to bring in. Beginning and finalizing the 3D Model on sketchup of the escape capsule. We also pinned the fleece so we know where to cut when we finish with the 2D design.

Dec 06, 2016

12:00 PM

Day 5

We cut the fleece into individual patches of rectangles. We updated the expenditure sheet and finished the rocket 3D model and planned the rest of the process of building the physical model.

Day 7

We started construction on the Escape Capsule and started to finalize the 3D model. We finalized the 2D model and also updated the expenditure sheet. We got materials approved by NASA and got started on designing the final design of rocket had used a resource for info "Nine Real NASA Technologies in 'The Martian'" NASA. NASA, 19 Aug. 2015. Web. 08 Dec. 2016.

Day 15

Today we finished the rocket construction and are finalizing the website. The website still has some but not much work left to do.

Day 16

Today we found out that our rocket had to much weight and that we need to lose some of it. Our rocket use to weigh 6.5 oz after getting a quail egg, removing the nuclear missile and shrinking the capsule the weight is 3.8 oz. So today the rocket is completely done and ready for launch tomorrow.

Day 17

The rocket launch was a success for the most part. the Quail egg survived, but the parachute didn't deploy or it didn't go high enough. When inspecting the rocket remains we found that the parachute had been burned along with the bottom of the white tube.

Day 10

Egg drop test was a success and the egg experienced no damages. We made revisions to rocket nose and egg capsule. Finished working on the website and got better designs on the rocket website.

Dec 14, 2016

12:00 PM

Day 11

We started to build our actual rocket and glued on the fins. We also fixed our hot glue gun and made the engine for our rocket.

Dec 15, 2016

12:00 PM

Day 12

Started to calculate Center of pressure and find out what the variables mean. Kept updating website and trying put video on website. Currently we are continuing to construct the rocket.
